If you’re not up to date with this awesome book allow me to give you a quick review of what’s happened thus far in this book. As much as I would love to review all 28 issues that have come in the New Krypton saga I just don’t have the time. So here we go…….Superman has defeated the alien known as Brainiac for real this time but that’s a story for another time. After defeating him Superman now has the bottled city of Kandor in his possession and he has enlarged it. Now all the people who have been trapped for so long are free on earth we are talking 100,000 Kryptonian’s here. With which earth is scared shitless about so they go and make their own planet and call it NEW KRYPTON. Supes decides he should keep a close eye on his old buddy Zod (whom we should be kneeing before or so I have heard). To do so he has been assigned to the military guild he has been giving the rank of commander. Meanwhile the little blue guys have noticed that there is a new planet in there universe so they send out the welcome wagon. That wagon being the boys in green from sector 2814 plus their buddy Sodam aka ION. So there is a semi rundown if you want more go buy the damn books and read them James Robinson is amazing you will like them. So on with the review now shall we.
Issue 4
The issue starts off with a nice little joke between Hal and Kal after he has beaten Gor like he owed him money. The lanterns are there to see what the planet of New Krypton is all about and what it’s trying to hide. Hal tells Zod why they are there and to everyones surprise he lets them go about their business. So off they go with their tour guide Tyr-Van from the labor guild. He shows them the whole city and tells them all about how it is much like New York City as in it is a melting pot. From there they ask to be shown the whole planet. Tyr-Van is so proud of his guilds work on turning the crystal like planet into a lush jungle with loads of crazy ass creature. Sodam gets some good news when he finds out he isn’t the only Daxamite out there fighting for good. Then Zod calls upon Kal and his squad to help the others catch an escaped villain from the Phantom Zone. This is one of the same villains that Zod had with him when he escaped from the Phantom Zone and tried take over the Earth. In the course of doing this the Green Lantern’s find an armada of battle ships in various stages of construction. What a shock huh Zod with enough firepower to blow a hole through us. While they were talking about those ships the fugitive makes his location known. He makes a break for it and Hal, John, Kal and Sodam head off in chase of him. They are flying through the city and he is doing whatever he can to stop or at the very least slow them down. I thought it was pretty cool when he brought down the building to get in there way that’s just quick thinking on his part. But not quick enough he is flying right where they want him to. Kal had his 2nd in command set up on the other side of the super structure with some very cool guns that take away their powers. Though Zod has other plans for the fugitive and that is to kill him to show the people that if you step out of line on this planet you will be dealt with. Well I don’t see Kal letting that happen do you? NO! I didn’t think so he whispers under his breath for her to not listen to Zod’s orders. So she listens to him cause well he is so dreamy and right. They hit the guy with the red sun rays, capture him, and then hand him over to the lanterns because he is wanted on OA. As they are about to take him away Zod shows up and takes back his prisoner. He tells Hal that he promises that no harm will come to the prisoner and he keeps his word. Then Zod drops other bombs and that is Kal-El and his 2nd in command Lt. Nar are both under arrest for TREASON.
WOW right people just wow. I can’t wait to see how Zod tries to screw Kal next. The way he just basically told the lantern’s to piss off was very cool. This issue I give 4 out of 5 O’s.

I’m not a big Superman fan but I’ve enjoyed this series so far.
