I decided to try something new for you guys and review some movies that came out recently. So if you are taking a trip to your local box store or the movie rental store you will have a heads up on what you might like. This week I chose two movies that came out Tuesday and one that came out the week before. In the future I will try to get all the new releases from that week.
Ridley resurrects “Alien”
The man who made us fear everything that went bump in the night and to look towards the sky is returning to the film that made him a household name. With two films involving the Predator in the last five years, Alien hasn’t seen it’s best day. But now the original director, Ridley Scott, is returning to breath some old goodness into the dying franchise. He will be directing the prequel, that has not yet been named, and is being written by Jon Spaihts.
To add to the ever growing collection of Interviews here at NerdGasm. I was able to catch up to Victor Gischler. Most recently known for “Welcome to the Bayou”, the last story arc in MAX Punisher: Frank Castle run and the on-going Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth. He took some time out of his busy schedule writing two of the most dangerous men in Marvel’s History to sit down and answer some questions from us.
NerdGasm wants you!
As I posted awhile back, we are still looking for more writers and columnist. We are always excepting Fan Reviews and will post them as we see fit, but we are looking for some people who may be interested in posting on a regular occasion.
Thanks to Rath99 and Kevin for coming up and helping us with finding and posting news. We are also looking for anyone who may like to have Ad Space on our site, as well promoting on our site. Contact either myself or Andy in the Contact page and we will be happy to assist you.
Bryce Dallas Howard joins “Twilight: Eclipse”
This one is for all you female NerdGasm followers out there. Bryce Dallas Howard, daughter of famed Director Ron Howard, will be joining the cast of Twilight for the third installment called “Twilight: Eclipse”. This is the third book out of the four and is scheduled to plan filming in August and be released June 30, 2010.
This is our first fan submitted review it is for The Utimates hardcover. We hope to get more and more of these reviews from other fans soon. Now on to the review by Eli Watts…
D.J. Caruso the director of Eagle Eye and Disturbia has been tapped to direct the Movie Adaption of the successful EA video game, Dead Space. Dead Space was released last year and already has two more installments in the works. With titles like Eagle Eye and Disturbia one would wonder if he is going to try for Shia LeBouf into the mix for this movie. As some fans have already began discussing with this announcement as well as the Sam Raimi directing Warcraft. It seems Hollywood has got the message the Uwe Bell is a shitty director and can’t even direct a movie that has already been laid out for him.
Fear not Battlestar fans, for you only have to wait till January 22 to get more Battlestar. Okay so it isn’t Adama and Six and what have you but it is still in that storyline. Caprica will air January 22 on SyFy and continue the ever growing storyline of Battlestar Galactica.
It was just announced that the NFL and ESPN will be combining their forces to put together the best movie for the Greatest Head Coach to ever live. They have not announced who will be the company distributing the movie or marketing it just yet. As the NFL has a very successful line of films, named, NFL Films. We may see a NFL Films feature film, then again ESPN is owned by Disney.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine hits blu Ray and DVD, September 15. Just like about every other movie release, we will see many different versions of the copy. Blu Ray will have two discs also featuring a Digital Copy, as DVD will see the single disc release as well as a Collector’s Edition. All the more to try and wash the bitter taste out of your mouth after you watch it.
